Course Description:
Adaptive Level 1 Mono/Bi
This is a one-day module assessment in which candidates will be verified in their riding, teaching, medical, and technical knowledge related to adaptive snowboarding. This assessment will look at the candidate's competency of using and appropriately fitting and modifying mono-ski and bi-ski adaptive equipment in the beginner to novice zones. A variety of techniques and skills related to seat-assisting will be covered to support a successful sit-down lesson.
Please bring with you to the exam a completed copy of the Adaptive Level 1 Mono/Bi Ski quiz found here.

Hit the books now before we all hit the snow. A great place to start is with our current national publications such as the PSIA Adaptive Alpine Manual, PSIA Alpine Adaptive Instruction Supplement: Diagnoses and Medication Classifications, AASI Snowboard Technical Manual, and the Snowsports Teaching Manual for Snowsports Instructors. Digital versions are available for free at Digital Manuals. Please spend time reviewing the educational resources available on the Adaptive Snowboard Reference Materials section of the PSIA-RM website.
