Further Information for Adaptive Alpine

  • The PSIA-RM Office will e-mail a notice to you of all the participants in your assessment group and their contact information. It is your responsibility to collaborate with fellow candidates and bring all adaptive and non-adaptive equipment that may be needed for your on-hill assessments.
  • If you received your certification(s) in a PSIA region other than RM, and the region assessed on an individual discipline versus Module (i.e.: VI versus Cog/VI) then you must attend and pass each module assessment in RM.
  • For candidates involved in adaptive certification pathway prior to June 2022:
    • To receive your Level 2 certification in RM you must pass at least one module assessment at Level 2 and the Functional Ski Assessment at Level 2. If you have further questions, please contact the PSIA-RM -AASI office to determine how to proceed with your certification path. This option is available to those already in the adaptive Level 2 certification process and expires May 2024.
    • As of the 14-15 season, you may pass the Functional Skiing Assessment at a Level 1 or Level 2. If you took your exam prior to the 14-15 season you must re-take the Functional Skiing Assessment and pass at a Level 2 for Level 2 certification. For details on the Level 1 and 2 scoring, see the Adaptive Alpine Functional Skiing Scorecard on the Adaptive Alpine Education Materials link to the right.
  • Assessments, whether passed or failed, count toward a member’s credit hour requirement.
