Membership & Certification Information
- Join the Rocky Mountain Division and the PSIA-AASI National Organization by paying the annual dues
- Members without certification are referred to as “Registered Members”
- Membership must be current in order to attend any events through PSIA-AASI Rocky Mountain
- Members can attend events under the age of 16 but will not be awarded any certification until they turn 16
Adaptive Alpine Level 1 Certification
Adaptive Alpine Level 2 Certification (Existing process for RM candidates in the adaptive assessment pathway prior to June 2022)
Prerequisites
- PSIA-RM Adaptive Alpine Level 1 Certified
- Current on Dues & Credit Hours
- Complete and pass the remaining online adaptive module knowledge assessments (two online assessments for each discipline in the adaptive module (total of four online assessments per module) at least one week before the corresponding on-hill assessments)
- Suggested: Complete Adaptive Alpine Professional Development Log for the corresponding module assessments
Requirements
- Attend and pass the Adaptive Alpine Functional Skiing Assessment at a Level 2. (See Further Information for Adaptive Alpine located below for additional information.)
- Complete and pass the remaining online adaptive module knowledge assessments (two online assessments for each discipline in the adaptive module (total of four online assessments per module) at least one week before the corresponding on-hill assessments)
- Pass at least one of the on-snow module assessments at a Level 2 (Note: This is true regardless of when you have taken previous module assessments. If you are taking your last module assessment and none of your previous module assessments were scored at Level 2, then your last Module Assessment must be passed at a Level 2. If you have passed an earlier module assessment and scored as a Level 2, the last assessment can be passed at a Level 1 or 2. - This process valid through the 2023-2024 snowsports season
Adaptive Alpine Level 3 Certification
Prerequisites
- PSIA-RM Adaptive Alpine Level 2 Certified
- Be an employee or volunteer or a recognized ski school of adaptive ski program.
- Attend the Adaptive Alpine Level 3 Prep Clinic
- Attend one of the four Alpine 200 level electives (Movement Analysis 201 Indoor Clinic; Movement Analysis 201 On-Snow Clinic; Precision Skiing 201; or Technical Foundations Indoor Clinic)
- Complete and pass the Online Adaptive Level 3 Knowledge Assessment at least one week before the on-hill assessment
- Current on Dues & Credit Hours
- Suggested:
- Possess a minimum of 300 hours teaching adaptive lessons
- Complete the Adaptive Alpine Level 3 Professional Development Guide
Requirements
- Attend and pass the Adaptive Alpine Level 3 on-snow assessment
- This process valid through the 2023-2024 snowsports season
Adaptive Alpine RMT Pathway
Adaptive Alpine RMT Certificate
Prerequisites
- PSIA-RM Adaptive Alpine Level 3 Certified
- Current on Dues & Credit Hours
- Attend the Adaptive Alpine Rocky Mountain Trainer Prep Workshop
- Be an employee or volunteer of a recognized ski school or adaptive ski program
- It is strongly suggested that candidates possess:

- Alpine Level 2 certification
- Have at least 25 verifiable hours as a clinic leader.

- Attend and pass the Adaptive Alpine Rocky Mountain Trainer Assessment
- This process valid through the 2023-2024 snowsports season
Further Information for Adaptive Alpine
- The PSIA-RM Office will e-mail a notice to you of all the participants in your assessment group and their contact information. It is your responsibility to collaborate with fellow candidates and bring all adaptive and non-adaptive equipment that may be needed for your on-hill assessments.
- If you received your certification(s) in a PSIA region other than RM, and the region assessed on an individual discipline versus Module (i.e.: VI versus Cog/VI) then you must attend and pass each module assessment in RM.
- For candidates involved in adaptive certification pathway prior to June 2022:

- To receive your Level 2 certification in RM you must pass at least one module assessment at Level 2 and the Functional Ski Assessment at Level 2. If you have further questions, please contact the PSIA-RM -AASI office to determine how to proceed with your certification path. This option is available to those already in the adaptive Level 2 certification process and expires May 2024.
- As of the 14-15 season, you may pass the Functional Skiing Assessment at a Level 1 or Level 2. If you took your exam prior to the 14-15 season you must re-take the Functional Skiing Assessment and pass at a Level 2 for Level 2 certification. - Assessments, whether passed or failed, count toward a member’s credit hour requirement.

Adaptive Alpine Level 1 Certification
- Participants must be a current PSIA-AASI member in order to attend events. You can join at this link.
- Complete the following online E-Learning Modules for each Adaptive Module:
- Adaptive Alpine Level I General Knowledge Online Exam
- Adaptive Alpine Level 1 Professional Knowledge Exam in the Module you are attending (Bi-Ski/Mono-Ski or Cognitive/VI or3-Track/4-Track)
- Complete the Professional Development Log for each Adaptive Module
