Course Description:

This is a three-day exam where each day can be taken on its own or all three can be taken together, however, all three days are required to achieve Adaptive Snowboard Level 2.

Day 2 ASB Cog/VI/HOH

This day requires proficiency teaching and guiding students from Level 1-5 with these particular adaptive specialties: cognitive or developmental impairment, visually impaired and hard of hearing related disabilities or a combination of any or all. AASI/ATS teaching and technical concepts as they apply to each specialty. Disability-specific knowledge, riding, safety, adaptive assists, medical and equipment assessments of adaptive riders. Candidates will also be expected to ride at a minimum of Snowboard Level 6 in a manner which provides the highest level of safety to both the candidate and the students whom he or she teaches and perform specific riding tasks designed to demonstrate proficiency in guiding students with the aforementioned disabilities.

The safety portion of this exam must be passed to successfully complete this exam. If any safety portion is failed the participant needs to retake the entire exam day. For more information and certification materials please visit www.psia-rm.org.
