We’re Ready for Winter by Dana Jacobs

This morning felt like fall.

It was cool and raining after months of hot, dry weather, and on my drive to the office I found myself thinking about winter, and about you.

I started thinking about everything that happens behind the scenes during the summer to get Rocky Mountain ready to serve our members when the snow finally arrives.

People often ask me, “What do you do all summer?” The answer is: a lot!

Rocky Mountain hosts hundreds of events each season, and one of our most important goals is simple: to provide you with the best experience and the best service we possibly can. That has always been our goal, and it continues to drive the work we do.

Our team spends the summer carefully planning our calendar of events and their locations by  working with school managers and looking at what has worked well in the past. Our discipline committees spend countless hours refining courses, updating course descriptions, improving processes and preparing our education staff. We review everything from registration to policies and procedures, always asking ourselves: How can we make this better for our members?

And we aren’t doing that work in isolation.

Across Rocky Mountain and nationally, we are focused on better alignment…working together to create a more consistent, thoughtful and valuable experience for you, regardless of where you participate. We believe that stronger regional and national alignment can ultimately mean better service to our members.

We also know that serving you well is about more than just the events themselves. It is about providing opportunities in the places you want to ski, investing in highly trained education staff, supporting the Total Training Pass (TTP), offering scholarships and continuing to look for ways to make membership more valuable and accessible.

And we know we don’t get everything right.

We want your feedback. If there is something we can do better, something that isn’t working, or something you think we should be considering, please tell us. We are always listening and always looking for ways to improve.Just reply to this email and I will personally read it.

After a challenging season last year, I think we are all ready for a great winter. I know I am.

So as we head into another season, know that your Rocky Mountain team is working hard, we are excited to have you with us, and we are rooting for you to have a successful, rewarding and fun year on the mountain.

Now we just need one more thing…SNOW.
