New Cross-Country Workbooks: Check them out and don’t procrastinate!
Hopefully you know by now that there are new XC National Certification Standards, and a supporting document called the Performance Guide being rolled out for this season.
A National XC Task force created workbooks for all level of certifications to help the candidate understand the New XC Standards and Performance Guide. To complete these workbooks is a requirement for certification and takes some time to complete since candidates are asked to work on concepts as they teach lessons. So, if you’re going for a certification this year, or even thinking about it, please look at our workbooks as soon as possible so you can start preparing. All workbooks can be found on the PSIA Rocky Mountain Website and PSIA National Website.
Here’s our assessment schedule for this season –
Level 1 Prep and Assessments:
- December 1-3 at Cross Country Ski Council, Leadville, CO
- December 8-10 at Gold Run, Frisco
- February 7-9 at Devil’s Thumb, Tabernash, CO
Level 2/3/RMT assessments:
- February 7 & 8 at Devil’s Thumb, Tabernash, CO
If you could also do me a favor…. if you know of new rookie XC instructors at your XC Nordic school, please encourage them to get certified and not to delay on starting their workbooks.
Even if you or a fellow instructor are not thinking about getting certified, check out our workbooks!!! The workbooks can be great resources to becoming a more effective instructor at any level, REALLY!!!!
Hope to see you out there gliding along on the tracks!
