Education Manager Job Description
PSIA-AASI Rocky Mountain is a non-profit organization located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We pride ourselves on offering exceptional certification and educational resources to snowsports instructors throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter to work in our Steamboat Springs, Colorado office. This position is full-time, year-round. Ideal candidates will hold a PSIA-AASI Level 3 certification and Level 3+ is preferred. We prefer candidates with leadership experience in the snowsports industry or experience managing others. Candidates ideally have experience building educational curriculum and are confident speaking in front of groups. Candidates should be organized and proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Documents with the ability to quickly learn other programs.
Job Summary:
Works closely with the Director of Education to manage education programs while coordinating event logistics.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manages Reinstatement and Non-PSIA credit programs.
- Manages our member school training program (TTP) where duties include working closely with our member school leadership to coordinate event dates and staffing with schools.
- Manages all aspects of member school special event requests.
- Creates and maintains the online status of events based on the event calendar.
- Staffs educational events and coordinates communications with staff.
- Manages all aspects of our summer mountain bike events.
- Maintains all educational materials.
- Works closely with our member schools and discipline committees to coordinate the scheduling of events each season.
- Assists the Events Coordinator in determining meeting space needs and securing and negotiating contracts for hotel and meeting rooms.
- Creates and builds annual event-related reports.
Additional Administrative Responsibilities
- Attends discipline committee meetings and educational events as needed.
- Track event packets and materials.
- Answer phone calls & emails to help with membership & educational inquiries.
- Monitors event numbers and waitlists, opening and closing event registrations based on staffing/registration count.
- Communicates with the member school group regarding the region’s news, meetings, and updates.
The duties are not inclusive of the above description and may vary based on the needs of the organization.
Salary median $55,500, based on experience. Includes 3% employer-match SIMPLE IRA, health insurance paid 100% by company, health insurance policy for family paid 50% by employer, Health Living Benefit, 5 days PTO (increasing after first year), paid Holidays and six paid sick days. After a 6-month training period, this position can move to a 4-day work week. This position reports to the Director of Education and works closely with our Administrative Staff, Education Staff and Educational Committees.
