Assessment Process Changes
By Dave Gregory, Director of Education
RM and our committees prepared for this season knowing that we would need to adjust on the fly as we began wading through this season in the middle of a pandemic. The safety of our membership and our staff is paramount, so we have adjusted a few assessment processes where we could minimize exposure.
Here is an overview of the changes –
Alpine –
- Level 2 & Level 3** – The Movement Analysis modules will be done entirely online. The assessments will primarily be scheduled in the morning of the assessment day with a few exceptions in the afternoon when needed.
Snowboard –
- Level 2 & Level 3** – The Movement Analysis modules will be done entirely online. The assessments will be scheduled in the evenings prior to the Ride and Teach Day
Children’s Specialist –
- CS** – Day 1 will be on snow in the morning and then the groups will break at lunch and gather online for the movement analysis portion of the assessment.
- CS2** – Day 1 will be completed online. The groups will gather online for the morning and movement analysis will be scheduled individually for that afternoon.
Adaptive –
- Assessment Modules** – MA will be done online for all assessment modules in place of the indoor sessions. The examiner will reach out to candidates ahead of time to schedule their sessions.
Freestyle, Cross Country, and Telemark processes remain unchanged.
** All candidates will be responsible for their own wifi and computer/tablet/phone access to complete the required online assessment portions.
You can reference updated outlines on our website.
I hope you all are having a Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you on snow at an event this season.
