Cross Country Skate & Classic ImprovementHone your XC skiing skills and update your Nordic knowledge. This two-day clinic is a non-certification based event designed to help participants improve their Skate & Classic skiing and teaching skills. Get personal feedback while solidifying your knowledge of various Skate and Classic maneuvers. Video analysis is often used. Depending on the weather and group goals, you may skate ski one day and classic ski another day, or you may do one in the morning and one in the afternoon of both days.
Cross Country Ski Technique for New CoachesSki Technique for New Coaches is a two day course offered at the Nordic Cross Country Rendezvous. Participants may attend the first day only with the second day being optional. This course is designed for new coaches or parents of junior cross country skiers. The course will include philosophy of coaching, teaching techniques, specific skiing drills, movement analysis utilizing video, and personal skiing improvement. Both classic and skate skiing will be offered to participants. If you are a new coach or an involved parent with your local club or team, this course will offer a valuable experience.
Cross Country Level 1 Prep ClinicThis clinic is designed for instructors who are new to Cross Country instruction and/or have no prior PSIA certification. Develop teaching methodology while improving technical knowledge and personal skiing skills in both Classic and Skate techniques. Skiing maneuvers will be demonstrated and developed through practice and feedback. This clinic is a prerequisite for Level 1 Certification. *Participants are required to download and bring the XC Level 1 Certification Workbook from PSIA-RM website to this clinic.*
Cross Country Level 1 ExamParticipants will be evaluated in a friendly, non-threatening manner in areas of Cross Country teaching, personal skiing skills and technical knowledge for both Classic and Skate technique. Teaching scenarios, group and individual movement analysis and plenty of skiing will be the venues for participants to demonstrate their understanding of modern Cross-Country teaching and skiing. The XC Level 1 Certification Workbook (please download from PSIA-RM website) must be completed and turned in at the certification event. Participants who meet or exceed the standard will be certified Level 1 at the completion of the course.
Cross Country Level 2/3 Prep ClinicDesigned to help you improve and fine-tune your Nordic teaching skills, personal skiing and technical knowledge for both Classic and Skate technique, this clinic will prepare you for your Level 2/3 Certification. Participants are required to download & bring the XC Level 2/3 Certification Workbook from PSIA-RM website to this clinic.
Cross Country Level 2/3 ExamParticipants will be evaluated in a friendly, non-threatening manner in areas of Cross Country teaching, personal skiing skills and technical knowledge for both Classic and Skate technique. Teaching scenarios, group and individual movement analysis, and plenty of skiing will be the avenues for participants to demonstrate their understanding of modern Cross Country teaching and skiing. The XC Level 2/3 Certification Workbook (which can be downloaded from the PSIA-RM website) must be completed and turned in at the certification event.
Cross Country RMT Prep ClinicThis is a high-level workshop is for instructors who desire to improve their skiing and clinic leading skills beyond Level 3 Certification. Exactly what will be covered in this clinic will be formatted around participant goals. Topics covered could include: cutting-edge Classic and Skate technique, upper level teaching progressions, advanced training methodology along with preparation for becoming a XC Rocky Mountain Trainer. This is not necessarily an exam prep clinic, but is a prerequisite for Cross Country Trainer. The XC RM Trainer Workbook (which can be downloaded from the PSIA-RM website), may be covered during this event.
Cross Country RMT ExamThe XC 401 Workshop is a prerequisite for Trainer’s Examination and should be taken within two years of this exam. Candidate must have 25 verifiable teaching hours as a clinic leader at home area. Must submit ski school director's letter of recommendation & completed application by designated deadline. Download application and workbook from the web. Workbook must be completed and brought to first day of the event. This 2-day event will be a validation of both classic and diagonal cross country skiing, training and technical knowledge at the trainer level. Candidates will be expected to perform high level tasks, demos and free skiing; perform movement analysis and training of peers and participate in technical discussions on XC skiing.
