2017 Women’s Summit
Planning is underway for the 2017 Summit on March 6-8, 2017 and we wanted to keep everyone in the loop of communication as we prepare to launch our PR campaign.
New this year the Summit will be operating out of Mammoth Mountain due to the logistics of Squaw Valley preparing for following event:
AUDI FIS SKI WORLD CUP AT SQUAW VALLEY | MARCH 9 – 12, 2017
Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows is proud to host the Audi FIS World Cup on March 9 – 12, 2017. This marks the return of World Cup ski racing to California for the first time in 19 years. Events held will consist of a Women’s Giant Slalom on Friday, March 10 and Women’s Slalom on Saturday, March 11. Olympic champions like Squaw Valley’s own Julia Mancuso and Mikaela Shiffrin will compete on the legendary Red Dog run, which also played host to the 1969 World Cup and 1960 Winter Olympics.
We are excited for the terrain options and traditionally premiere snow conditions that Mammoth offers in March. In addition, coaches who make their way to Mammoth for the Summit will still have time to continue on to SV after the event to catch all the action!
For a detailed look at our planning for 2017 please visit: womens-summit.com which is gradually being updated. We are still working on guest speakers, panel topics, and developing a final coaching roster to add to the program line-up. Given our new venue we are evaluating the budget (and initial registration numbers) to help us with a tiered structure to staffing for this season. We hope to provide everyone with more detailed information by the end of October.
** Participants who are interested in registering can use the links on the website (2016 participants are being offered a special discount/promo-code if they register before October 15th).
In the meantime, we encourage you to share our website and facebook page, with your resort and regional communications network to help inform more women about this event. There have been some outstanding articles published on the 2016 Summit (please see the attachment written by Candace). If we can support you in developing content that can be shared in your region, please let us know.
